Blogger Summer Beauty Brawl: Bronzer

Welcome to day four of the Beauty Brawl! We are reviewing bronzers today. I've never been crazy about bronzer because I've always been pale so nothing I tried looked right on me. So let's see how this bronzer works for me!

Product  90
Packaging  80
Price  90

I got this sample in my March ipsy bag. I wasn't sure how I felt about it at first. It can be used in the TEMPTU airbrush system, with fingertips, or a brush. The packaging is simple but I like it. The first time I tried it I used my Real Techniques expert face brush and I think it looked pretty good. Today I used my fingers to blend it and I really like the way it looks.

I started tanning a couple of weeks ago so right now I think the color is just right for me. Just add a little bit of product and blend it out. If you need more you can layer it. I applied some to my hand and I can't stop looking at it and loving how natural it looks.

The sample I got was .25 fl. oz. the full size is 1 fl. oz. A little bit goes a long way so I will probably have this sample for a while. The full size costs $29.50 and I think that is a reasonable price. I would like to try their blush it looked like they had some really beautiful colors. You can purchase the bronzer here.

Blogger Summer Beauty Brawl: Primer

Hello everyone! Who is ready for day 3 of the Beauty Brawl? Today we are reviewing primers! I chose Baby Skin from Maybelline. I've been wanting to try it since it came out so let's get started!

I'm still not having any luck with the app so here is my score
Product  85
Packaging  90
Price  100

First of all the packaging is really fun! I can easily find it in my makeup bag. I think it's a decent size for the price. I got it from Walmart for $5.35. It feels very nice and smooth going on the skin. Is it an instant pore eraser? No, but my pores are huge. I do think it helps though. I work at a tanning salon so it can get pretty toasty and whenever I checked my makeup it still looked pretty good.

I definitely like it a lot more than the NYX primer. I prefer the Benefit Porefessional Primer but at $31 I can't afford it everytime so I will keep buying Baby Skin.

I hope you enjoyed day 3! Check out Mikayla's blog to see what product she chose.

Let me know what primers you are loving right now or if you want me to try one.

Blogger Summer Beauty Brawl: Brow Product

Hello everyone! Whose excited for day two of the beauty brawl? Today we are reviewing brow products. I chose Rimmel London's Brow This Way Brow Gel. Sorry for the delay I worked tonight and after I got home I just wanted to relax for a bit.

Until I can get the app here is my score
Product  60
Packaging  80
Price  80

I thought I would try a brow gel so I bought Rimmels in the medium brown shade. I was not a fan. I had to be really careful applying it so If you are in a rush I don't recommend it. I would rather fill in my brows with a pencil. If you like this type of product it's not awful and you can't beat the price. It was only $3.97 at Walmart. The packaging is really simple and it's the same color as the product.

Blogger Summer Beauty Brawl: Face Mask

Hello everyone! Welcome to day one of the Summer Beauty Brawl! I really enjoyed the Christmas Beauty Brawl so I was excited when I was asked if I wanted to be a part of this one. Today we are reviewing face masks and I chose the Feeling Beautiful Avocado & Oatmeal face mask.

First of all you can't beat the price of these masks $3.27 for 6 fl. oz. The clay helps remove the dirt and oil from your pores while Vitamin E, Avocado, and Oatmeal moisturize. You can use this mask two times a week or as often as needed. I leave it on for about 5-10 minutes and my skin feels great. The packaging is nice and simple which obviously helps keep it budget friendly. I definitely prefer it over another one of their masks.

I hope you enjoyed day one head over to thatluckieone to see what product Mikayla chose! Also our hashtag is #beautybrawl16 so you can follow us on social media to see what everyone chose.

March 2016 ipsy glambag review

Hello Everyone! It's time for my ipsy review! When I was checking out their Instagram seeing all the cool things that could be in my bag I got really excited. Well I didn't get any of the things I wanted to try so I was REALLY disappointed. I had to remind myself that I might be pleasantly surprised by some of the items. I loved the bag design this month I thought it was perfect for March.

* not pictured nail buffer

Aphrodite Skin Care - Replenishing Eye Cream  $27.99

I wasn't thrilled about this product. I already got two full sized eye creams for the blog which will take me a while to use so I obviously didn't need more. It does seem like a good product  though. It didn't irritate my skin and it felt nice on the skin. I will probably just give this to someone.

Vera Mona - Lotus Eyeshadow in Clover  palette

This eyeshadow is full size and it normally comes in a palette. The link is above if you want to check it out. When I first looked at it I wasn't thrilled but once I swatched it I thought it was a really pretty color. It's very creamy and it has good pigmentation. Just make sure you use a good eye primer.

Margaret Dabbs London - Super Shiner Buffer  £7.00

I was not happy about getting this product. I don't use nail buffers. There were so many products I would have loved to try.

NYX Cosmetics - Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick $7

I was disappointed that I wasn't getting Colour Pop but I had been wanting to try this liquid lipstick since it came out. I got the shade pink lust. When I first saw it I was kind of like yikes that will look so bad on me. Once I put it on I was surprised I didn't hate it. I have to channel my inner P!nk but its definitely a fun color to rock this summer! I actually went to Target to pick up another in the shade Tea & Cookies.

TEMPTU - Warm Glow Bronzer  $35

I'm not sure how I feel about this bronzer. I'm not used to using bronzer because I have trouble finding the right shade. The shade does seem to work for me (In the picture below I didn't blend it out very well.) Liquid bronzer just seems really messy to me. But it did blend well and the color did look good. I just don't care for all the shimmer in it.

So that was my March 2016 ipsy glam bag. Two products I really liked, one that is ok, and two that I wasn't happy with. You just have to remember not every bag will be amazing. I have seen my April glam bag sneek peek and can I just say it looks good! If you want to start getting an ipsy glam bag you can use my link!

Do you get an ipsy glam bag? What did you love what did you hate?

Valentia Even Glow Serum Review

I am so happy to bring another Valentia review to the blog! I loved working with them last time. They were very quick at answering any questions I had or helping resolve issues.

About the Product

Even Glow Serum - A lightweight serum that will give your skin a youthful glow and a brilliant shine for that well rested and refreshed look. It contains 20% Vitamin C and natural and organic ingredients.
This serum will:
  • Even the skin tone - Dark spots, skin discoloration, uneven, and ill textured skin will become smooth, wrinkle free skin that leaves you looking flawless and ageless.
  • Increase the glow and radiance - Essential fatty acids leave the skin smooth and visibly brighter. Smooth skin capable of reflecting light will give your skin a youthful glow and a brilliant shine for that well rested and refreshed look.
  • Absorbs rapidly - Moisturizes skin due to the capacity of the hyaluronic acid to absorb water, thereby increasing fluid between cells, giving your skin a smoother and younger appearance. This intense water absorption means no more dry, peeling or cracked skin, even in extreme weather.
  •  Boosts collagen production - Organic Rosehip seed oil supports Vitamin C increasing collagen production so your skin retains the elasticity responsible for a youthful appearance and prevents skin sagging associated with aging.
  • Reduces wrinkles and fine lines - Reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles with the help of Vitamin C. Special ingredients such as Hyaluronic acid and Organic sea buckthorn oil work to plump up the skin, which reduces fin lines and wrinkles in the skin so it is smoother, clearer and younger.

    Review

    • Packaging - I really love the way Valentia packages their products. It comes in a really nice glass bottle and it has a dropper. I will say as much as I love Valentia I wish the product came in a slightly bigger bottle.
    • Smell - This serum smells really good. Not going to lie I open it up just to smell it sometimes just like my chocolate bar palette! It smells better than the True Glow Eye Cream. It's a really nice orange scent.
    • Texture - It's a thin serum so it's very smooth and it feels good when on the skin.
    • Application - First wash your face then let it dry. When you are ready to apply the product first shake it lightly. I use the dropper and apply it directly to my skin I feel like it works better that way because it absorbs very quickly. Once the serum has absorbed into your skin apply your moisturizer.
    • Effectiveness - I LOVE this serum. It gives my skin a beautiful glow. I feel comfortable going out in public without makeup because my skin looked that good! It also has hyaluronic acid in it and it does amazing things for my skin.
    • Value for money - It is $25 for 1.18 fl. oz. of product. I wish Valentia used bigger bottles but I really love this product and what it does for my skin. It's a natural product that I can use and not worry about anything harmful being in it.
    • Availability - You can get this product on Amazon or their website.

    * I received this product complimentary to test and review. All opinions are my own.

    February 2016 ipsy glam bag

Hello Everyone! I got my very first ipsy bag this month and I was so excited! It was my Christmas gift from my brother and future sis so it was really sweet of them!

    How does ipsy work?
First you will create your beauty profile by taking a quiz so they know what types of products you like or want to try and how comfortable you are with trying new things. For only $10 a month you will get a personalized bag with 5 products. It could be makeup, skincare, perfume and more. Then you get to review the product and earn points which you can use for rewards.

So here was February's Glam Bag!

theBalm Cosmetics - MR. WRITE (NOW) eyeliner pencil in Jac.

I was very excited to try something from theBalm Cosmetics. I would have preferred an eyeshadow but I'm not complaining. The eyeliner glides on and when I rub it it doesn't seem to budge. It's a really nice bronze shade so it's perfect for when I don't want something as intense as black and as my liner under my eyes for a sultry bronze look. I got the full size product which is 0.01 oz. and it is $17.

treStique - blush stick in Bora Bora Coral.

I am a powder blush kind of girl but I was really open to trying a stick blush. The color is pretty and works with my skin tone. It glides on the skin and blends pretty well. I'm still getting used to it but I like it so far. The sample size I got was 0.04 oz. I couldn't find how big the full size is but it's $34.

Perfectly Posh - BFF Best Face Forever Exfoliating Daily Face Wash.

This was honestly one of the best things I got in the bag. The natural microbeads do an amazing job exfoliating my face. It leaves my skin super soft! The peppermint and grapefruit smells really good! I definitely plan on trying more from this brand! The full size is 4 fl. oz. and it costs $21.

Luxie Beauty - Small Tapered Blending Eye Brush 231.

I was extremely excited to see I was getting a brush in my first bag. This was what I was looking forward to the most and I wasn't disappointed. It is beautiful with it's pink handle and rose gold ferrule. It has synthetic bristles and is coated in a revolutionary antibacterial solution. It does a wonderful job blending my shadows. It is my new go to blending brush. The brush is $12

Naked Cosmetics - Mica Pigment in Sierra Nevada #02.

The only pigment I had before I got this was something from Icing that I never use so I am not usually into using pigments I definitely prefer regular eyeshadow. I think what I don't like is the fact that it is loose and I am clumsy so it's not a good combination but this color is really pretty. It can be used for the eyes, face, lips, nails and body. It's perfect for the inner corner and I think it would be a really beautiful highlight. I've only used it once but it looked really pretty on my eyes. The size I got was 0.05 oz. I looked on their website and couldn't find a size so I don't know if this is full size but it is $14.99.

So far I really love ipsy. The other day I got an email with a sneak peak and it included a Color Pop eyeshadow so fingers crossed I get it! If you want to join ipsy you can use my referral link. If you already get ipsy Glam Bag's tell me what you got!
